Officer Patricia Williams responded to a call for a "suspicious person acting strangely" in a residential neighborhood Saturday night, only to find the subject was a 28-year-old man walking home from a costume party in a full inflatable T-Rex suit.
"Dispatch said the caller described someone 'lurching around making weird noises,'" Williams reported. "Technically accurate, I guess. Those suits don't really allow for graceful movement."
The encounter was complicated by the fact that the costume's tiny arms made it impossible for the subject to produce identification, and the built-in fan motor was too loud for normal conversation.
"I asked him where he was coming from and he just kind of... gestured with his little arms," Williams said. "Then he fell over. Getting back up took about four minutes."
The subject was not charged with any crime, though Williams did give him a ride home after he got stuck trying to fit through his own front door.
