Chud Johnson News' commitment to journalism was tested Wednesday when the CJN news van became hopelessly mired in mud during a live remote broadcast, forcing correspondent Petrina Johnson to continue her report while increasingly desperate sounds emanated from off-camera.

"As you can see behind me, firefighters are working to contain the—" Petrina reported, as the sound of spinning tires and creative profanity drifted through her microphone. "—the scene here is... sorry, was that our van? Anyway, the fire is—"

Camera operator Ted Williams later explained he'd attempted a "shortcut" through what appeared to be a solid field but was actually "several feet of liquid misery pretending to be grass."

"Petrina just kept going," Williams said admiringly. "The van was sinking, I was up to my knees in mud, and she's there in her rain boots giving a perfectly professional report. Never broke character."

The van was eventually recovered by a very amused towing company. The footage has since gone viral, with many praising Petrina's dedication and Ted's "truly Olympic-level swearing."
